Old shop guy told me to try a track pump instead of my compressor for bleeding brakes

I was fighting with a noisy compressor at the shop in Denver last week trying to bleed some Shimano brakes. This retired mechanic who hangs around told me to just grab a basic track pump with a hose adapter. He was right, no more air bubbles from the compressor tank and it took me 10 minutes instead of 45. Anyone else ditch their compressor for bleeding?

My compressor works fine for me. Track pump is just slower and more effort for no real gain if your compressor has a good filter.

Nah, track pump is way more satisfying though. There's something about that rhythm, you know? Plus compressors are loud as heck and wake up the whole house if you're messing with tires at 6am. I'll take the extra 30 seconds any day.
