Stopped by the old Schwinn shop in Dayton and the workbench was exactly the same

They still have that massive Park Tool wall mount vise from the 90s, but the whole parts wall is just QR codes for online orders now. Anyone else have a local spot that feels frozen in time except for how they get inventory?

Yeah, that mix of old gear and new ways to pay is everywhere now. Reminds me of what @quinn_kim45 said about the record store. My local hardware spot still has the same creaky floorboards, but good luck finding anything without checking their tablet first.

Lol my buddy went to this tiny record store last month. Dude still had a literal cash register from like 1985, but now he just scans your phone for Apple Pay. Wild combo.

Hold up, a cash register from 1985 but he takes Apple Pay? That's the most insane tech mashup I've ever heard. It's like finding a payphone that only takes bitcoin. How does that even work, does he have a little square reader stuck to the side of that old metal beast? That mental picture is just wild.
