Tried wax chain lube vs standard wet lube on my commuter - wasn't even close
I swapped over to Squirt wax lube on my old Fuji about 3 months ago after years of using Finish Line wet lube. The chain stays clean for almost 200 miles compared to maybe 80 before it looked like black sludge. Plus my drivetrain isn't grinding itself to death every winter in Seattle rain. Anyone else made the switch and found it way less messy?

Wax lube is the real deal for messy commutes honestly. Night and day difference in how clean everything stays.

Yeah the chain stays clean for almost 200 miles compared to maybe 80 before it looked like black sludge" - That's been my exact experience too. I used to be a diehard wet lube guy because I thought wax was just for roadies on perfect days. But once I tried Squirt on my commuter last winter I couldn't believe how much less gunk built up after a week of wet roads. The biggest thing for me is that my chain and cassette don't feel like sandpaper after a month of rain riding. Wet lube just attracts every piece of grit and road grime like a magnet, wax sheds it off way better. I do have to reapply more often like every 150 miles or so but it's way less messy than constantly degunking a black chain. Definitely not going back to wet lube anytime soon lol.
