Rant: I thought talking to my plants was total nonsense until my basil in the kitchen window doubled in size
My friend in Seattle swore by it, so I tried it for 30 days and now I'm a believer. Anyone else have a weird plant care tip that actually works?

My aunt in Florida talked to her ferns for years and they still died every winter. I had a basil plant on my windowsill that I completely ignored, just giving it water when the soil was dry, and it grew like crazy. Sometimes the conditions are just right, like the light or the soil mix. I figure the talking is more for the person than the plant.

Maybe @coleman.derek's aunt's ferns just hated her stories.
