Heard a young guy at the supply yard call a trowel 'that flat metal thing' and it made me think about how we learn the trade now.

I once called a float a "big sanding block" so I feel that guy's pain.

Honestly, who cares what he called it? He got the point across. The name isn't as important as knowing how to use the tool right.
