My grocery bill in Denver dropped by $40 last month after I started making my own tortillas.

I got tired of paying $4 for a pack of eight, so I looked up a simple flour, water, salt, and oil recipe online, and now I can make a stack of twenty for about seventy-five cents total, which has me wondering what other basic kitchen staples are WAY cheaper to just make at home?

My yogurt maker cost more than a year's supply.
