Bought a $12 travel pillow in Bangkok that looked like a giant croissant
I got it from a street vendor near Khao San Road because my neck was killing me after the flight. The thing was filled with these weird little foam beads that made a crunchy sound every time I moved. Fell asleep on the overnight bus to Chiang Mai and woke up with the pillow completely flat, beads all over my seat and the floor. The bus driver was not happy lol. Anyone know a good brand for a pillow that won't explode?

Did you check the seams before you bought it? I read that a lot of those street market pillows have really weak stitching. The beads work their way out through the thread holes over a few hours. A proper travel pillow should have a double stitched seam to hold up.

Just put mine in a spare pillowcase, worked fine.

oh totally, that's exactly what I did with mine too @jake_mason30 and it worked way better than I expected. the pillowcase trick is a lifesaver, especially when you're stuck with one of those cheap ones that barely last a few trips. you're absolutely right about the seams though, mine had the beads poking out after like two hours on a bus. i ended up sewing a quick double stitch on the edges myself after that and it held up for ages. honestly, a little bit of prep goes a long way, and just tossing it in a case stops the mess before it even starts. can't believe more people don't try that, it's so simple.
