Just realized that buying a 24-hour public transport pass in Lisbon for 6.50 euros was way better than paying per ride.
I was sure I wouldn't use it enough to be worth it, but after taking the tram, metro, and a funicular twice in one day, I saved over 8 euros compared to single tickets.

My buddy did the same thing in Berlin and almost skipped the day pass. He ended up hopping on and off trains all day to see different neighborhoods, and it saved him a ton of cash. Those passes are sneaky good deals if you move around even a little.

Totally depends on the trip.

Yeah but caleb191, that only works if your plan is just riding around all day. Most people want to actually go into museums or stop for a long lunch, not just look out a train window. Those passes lock you into feeling like you have to keep moving to get your money's worth. I'd rather just buy a couple single tickets and actually enjoy a place instead of worrying about the clock.
