Tracked my grocery spending for 3 months and saw a $200 drop just from meal prepping on Sundays

I used to grab random stuff at the store and throw $400 a month at food, but after I started planning every meal for the week on Sunday mornings and sticking to a list, my monthly bill dropped to $200 by month three - anyone else see that big a change from just one small habit shift?

Agree completely, @charles_henderson, but I'd say that's the whole point, right? I mean, impulse buys are where like 80% of the waste comes from (at least for me). Once I started my Sunday prep routine, I realized I was basically paying for the privilege of standing in aisles with an empty stomach. My bill dropped almost exactly the same as yours, from like $350 to $180, just from having a plan and a list instead of hoping for the best. It's wild how one little shift (showing up prepared) can trick you into saving that much without even feeling like you're missing out.

Isn't that just cutting out impulse buys rather than a magic savings trick?
