Can we talk about the $300 I dropped on a digital moisture meter for lumber
In my experience, it saved me from building a set of kitchen cabinets with wood that was still at 18% moisture, which would have been a nightmare after delivery, so has anyone found a cheaper tool that's just as reliable?

Seriously, that's a bargain compared to a ruined project. The Wagner pinless ones are solid for less cash. Just check the calibration.

Yeah, the calibration is key. A cheap meter that's off is worse than just guessing.
