Found a tent at a yard sale in Flagstaff that was basically a giant potato chip bag

I was driving through Flagstaff last month and stopped at a yard sale. They had a tent for ten bucks, so I picked it up. Got it home and set it up in the yard to check it out. The rain fly was made of this shiny silver material that crinkled like a snack bag with every gust of wind. Has anyone else ever seen a tent that sounds like you're sleeping inside a bag of chips?

That crinkly sound is a common complaint with older emergency blankets used as tent material. Read a camping forum thread where people called them "space blanket tents" because of the noise. Does the inside get super hot when the sun hits it?

Ever try to sleep in one? It's like a solar oven with crinkly walls.

Wait, it gets hotter inside? I thought the whole point of those shiny blankets was to keep heat in. So you're telling me it turns into a tiny greenhouse and bakes you? That sounds like the worst kind of wake-up call, like waking up in a sweaty chip bag.
