My old way of asking for a raise was basically just hoping they'd notice my work
For years, I'd just put my head down and wait for review time. Then my friend in Chicago told me to track my wins. So six months ago, I started a simple doc listing projects I led and the money they saved, like the $15k from a new vendor deal. I brought that list to my boss last week and had a real talk. Has anyone else switched from being quiet to showing proof? What kind of things do you put on your list?

Oh man, the "hoping they'd notice" method was my whole career. I was basically a workplace monk, praying for a miracle. My list was super sad at first, just stuff like "answered emails fast." Then I forced myself to write down any time I fixed a thing that broke or made a process take less time. Even small wins add up to show you're paying attention.

Used to think that was just bragging, but tracking those small fixes totally changed my mind. It builds a real case over time.
