Shoutout to the old timer who told me to use a double-cut file on my seaming iron

He said it would clean off the gunk way faster than sandpaper, and after fighting a sticky iron on a 500 yard commercial job in Phoenix last month, I finally tried it and it worked PERFECT. Has anyone else switched from sandpaper to a file for cleaning their iron?

Nah, a file will scratch up the face over time though.
