That corner seam in a Denver basement gave me trouble last Tuesday

I was working on a walk-out basement in a split level, and the seam right where the steps turn kept pulling apart on me. Has anyone else had issues with seams near stair landings or is it just my technique?

3 different times I had that same problem in a row last month... on a basement with a weird corner landing near the back door. The seam kept popping up at the nose of the top step where the plank meets the transition strip. I finally had to pre-bend the plank a little and tack it down with extra glue before I even set the weight on it.

You know I used to think those pre-bending tricks were overkill, but this changed my mind after fighting the same spot on a walkout last month? That extra glue and a little curve in the plank saved me about three trips back to re-seat the seam. Take it for what it's worth, but I'm a believer now in tackling the nose of that step before it even sees the transition strip.
