My line cook said 'we're not saving lives, we're feeding people' after a rough dinner rush, and it kinda stuck with me.

We had a server once who would have a full meltdown if a table sent back a side of fries for being cold. Like, crying in the walk-in over potatoes. That line cook is right, it's just food. I get what @aaron_murphy57 means about sweating over a burger order, I've been there too. You get so wound up in the rush you forget people will be fine if their pasta comes out two minutes late. It's a good thing to remember when the tickets keep coming.

Man, that walk-in cry over fries is too real lol. I've totally been in that headspace where a small mistake feels like the end of the world, just like @aaron_murphy57 with the burger. It's crazy how the rush makes you forget most people are pretty chill if you just fix the problem quick.

Reminds me of the time I took a burger order so seriously I started sweating. (It was just a burger, Aaron.) Gotta love that kitchen perspective.
