That 'quick logo change' client who wanted 12 versions for $200

I used to take any project that came my way, even if the budget was tiny. Last year I said yes to a woman in Denver who needed a logo refresh for her bakery. She kept saying 'just a small tweak' and then asked for 12 completely different color schemes over 3 weeks. Now I have a minimum $500 threshold for any logo work and I write up a scope doc before touching anything. Anyone else have a specific dollar amount where you started saying no to red flags?

God that sounds exhausting. I've been burned by the same kind of client who thinks 'quick tweak' means endless free work. Setting a minimum floor is the only way to filter out the time wasters and protect your sanity.

Well I gotta say I see it the other way @fiona_lewis37... sometimes you gotta be flexible to build relationships. Charging a minimum floor right off the bat can scare away clients who might turn into big paydays later. I've had folks start with tiny projects and then come back with huge budgets after they trusted me. It's a gamble sure but not every quick tweak is a red flag... some people just don't know what they need until they see it.
