Visited the new bioswale project in my city's downtown park
I was walking through the park yesterday and saw they'd finished installing a big, curving ditch filled with native plants and rocks. A city worker told me it's designed to catch and filter all the stormwater runoff from the nearby streets before it hits the sewer. Has your town added any green infrastructure like this recently?

We just got a rain garden put in at the end of our block. It's basically a shallow pit with special soil and plants like swamp milkweed. It fills up during a downpour and soaks the water into the ground over a day or two. It looks way better than a plain old storm drain.

Look at you, @the_sage, being all fancy with your eco-friendly block. My street just gets a giant puddle that smells like wet dog and ruins my shoes. Honestly, your rain garden sounds like a spa day for storm water. I bet the neighborhood mosquitoes are throwing pool parties in it. Still, it's probably nicer than staring at a rusty grate while waiting for the bus.
