Bitter aeropress brew had me stumped for weeks

Tried different beans and water temps, but no luck. Shortened the press time by 10 seconds and it was perfect. How do you adjust for different coffee types?

Dark roasts always seem to need a quicker press in my experience. Read that the oils in darker beans extract faster, so it's easy to overdo it. Maybe just try knocking a few seconds off your usual time with those beans first.

No way someone actually did that. Ryanw17 is spot on about the oils pulling fast. My buddy ruined a whole bag of dark beans last month by pressing full time. Tasted like burnt dirt water. Had to dump the pot and start over with a much quicker press.
