Tiny coffee shop in Denver had no espresso machine
Walked into this place called Stitch Coffee off Broadway last weekend. Small spot, big line. Looked at the menu and there was no espresso drinks at all. Just pour over, French press, and cold brew. Barista said they ditched the machine six months ago. Said it freed up space and made the shop quieter. People actually stay longer now and chat. Has anyone else seen a shop go fully manual like that?

Oh wow, I bet the acoustics in there must be weirdly nice now without the machine hissing and grinding all day. Bet you can actually hear the beans cracking during a pour over...

Yeah, you can hear the beans cracking now. Mostly because I'm the one making them pop from getting roasted by my pour over technique.
