Vent: That time a pro told me my kitchen color was wrong and she was right
Last fall my cousin's wife, who paints houses for a living, told me my beige and olive combo for the kitchen cabinets looked like baby food gone bad. I got mad and painted it anyway. After 3 weeks I had to repaint the whole thing in navy and warm white and it actually makes the room look bigger and cleaner. Has anyone else gotten harsh color advice that ended up being a blessing in disguise?

Oh man, I once painted my bathroom a color that ended up looking exactly like pepto-bismol so I feel your pain. Your cousin's wife sounds like she knows her stuff, even if it hurt to hear at first.

Man I painted my living room "tropical sunrise" once and ended up living inside a melted creamsicle for two years before I caved and fixed it. Your cousin's wife saved you a lot of regret, even if it stung at the time.
