Hot take: the 'millennial pink' wave in Denver cafes three years ago actually taught me about color harmony.

Last week I redesigned a local bakery's menu and finally understood why that specific muted rose paired so well with brass fixtures and dark green plants, creating a vibe that felt both fresh and cozy without being trendy.

Feel that, it's frustrating when a real design win gets written off as just a fad.

That whole color theory take feels like giving way too much credit to a basic trend. It was just a popular shade that got slapped on everything. The vibe worked because cafes are nice places to be, not because of some deep design magic with the rose and brass. You could probably swap in a different soft color and get the same cozy feel if the coffee and pastries are good. Calling it a lesson in harmony is just dressing up a fad after the fact.
