My dad's old trick for bagging comics actually saves me money lol
I used to buy those expensive comic bags and boards from the shop every month. Was dropping like $30 a pop just to keep my 90s X-Men run mint. Then my dad showed me he just uses standard polyethylene bags from a craft store and cuts his own backing boards from thin cardboard. I tried it like 6 months ago and honestly they work fine. No acid migration issues or anything so far. Anyone else cheap out on storage or am I just being dumb here?

You mentioned "my dad showed me he just uses standard polyethylene bags from a craft store," and that really struck me. It's funny how a lot of us get stuck thinking we need the official expensive stuff for everything, when a simpler approach works just as well. I've noticed this pattern with all sorts of hobbies and home repairs people often overthink things and spend way more than they have to.

My uncle was exactly the same way with fishing gear. He caught just as many fish with a $20 rod and some cheap lures as my friend who spent $300 on the fancy brand stuff. It really is wild how much money we waste before we learn that simple works fine.
