Walked past a 20 year old driveway in Phoenix yesterday that still looks brand new

I was out in Glendale visiting a buddy and noticed this house that had a broom finish driveway that looked maybe 2 years old max. Knocked on the door and asked the guy who did it cause I was curious. He said he poured it himself back in 2004 and just sealed it every 2 years like clockwork. Used regular old 4000 psi mix with fibers, nothing fancy. Made me think about how many jobs I see crack within 5 years because people skip the sealing or rush the cure. Anyone else notice older work holding up better than the stuff going in now?

Actually sealing isn't meant for broom finish, it dips into the pores and can trap moisture.

Heard that before, but what about the moisture sitting on top instead?
