Learning to let go of my old curling iron finally paid off

I spent $150 on a new ceramic flat iron after fighting with my $30 one for 2 years and my hair stopped breaking off at the ends. Have any of you switched from cheap tools and noticed a big difference in hair health?

I read somewhere that a lot of those cheap irons don't have even heat distribution, so you end up going over the same spot more times and causing breakage. Sounds like your upgrade was a smart move.

Totally agree with you @diana55, the uneven heat is a nightmare. I had a cheap one where the plates would be scorching hot on one side and barely warm on the other, so I'd have to press down super hard to get any curl to hold. That pressure plus the extra passes just fried my ends after a few months. My hair stylist actually pointed out the damage and said it was from all the extra heat exposure. The upgrade really is worth it for your hair's sake.
