Paid $80 for a writing prompt generator and it was a total waste
I figured paying for a tool that spits out prompts would jumpstart my stories. Instead I got a bunch of vague nonsense like 'write about a door and a feeling.' No context, no hook, nothing useful. After three days of trying to make it work I just went back to browsing free prompt threads on here. That $80 could have bought me three decent books on plotting instead. Has anyone else fallen for one of these paid prompt tools and regretted it?

Hold up, you paid eighty bucks for something that just said "write about a door and a feeling"? That's wild. I mean, I've seen some overpriced stuff in this hobby but that takes the cake. My dog could generate better prompts by walking across my keyboard. I honestly can't believe someone would charge real money for that level of vague. You'd get more inspiration from staring at a blank wall for ten minutes, seriously.

Your dog walking on the keyboard comment reminds me of the time my cat sat on my laptop and somehow ordered a pizza.
