Grid gap broke my whole layout on IE11 last week

I was building a product card layout and used gap: 20px in grid, which worked perfectly in Chrome but turned into a total mess in IE11 stack with no spacing at all. Had to fall back to negative margin hacks and explicit width calculations to match what should have been a one-liner has anyone else run into this specific IE11 grid gap issue?

Ugh, MAN that hits close to home. I remember spending a whole weekend trying to figure out something similar and all I got was a headache and a dead laptop battery. It's SO frustrating when you know the answer is right there but you just can't crack it. Props to your buddy for sticking with it though, three days of that is brutal. Hope he got to sleep like a baby after he finally fixed it.
