Token naming inconsistency ate 3 days of my life last month
Our team spent 3 full days in Chicago tracing a spacing bug that only showed up in production because someone named a token 'space-md' in Figma but the dev file had 'spacing-medium', and it took a designer from another project to spot the mismatch, so has anyone else built a naming convention that actually sticks across teams or do we all just accept this chaos?

Did she ever tell you what actually fixed it? I ask because a friend of mine went through almost the exact same thing at her company, except with color tokens instead of spacing ones. Someone had 'blue-brand' in one file and 'brand-blue' in another, and the whole app was showing the wrong shade for weeks. The kicker was that the mismatch only broke on certain screens, so QA kept signing off on it. She said what finally worked was making one shared list that both sides had to pull from, so nobody could just type a name freehand anymore. Took them a while to set up but she says they have not had that fight since.
