Can we talk about how much better my landing pages look after I stopped using black text on white backgrounds?

Switched to a 90% gray background with navy text six months ago in Boulder and my bounce rate dropped 12 percent, has anyone else noticed a similar shift from changing their color palette?

My buddy Dave in Denver tried his landing pages with a dark slate background and pale yellow text last month. He said his eyes felt less tired after like an hour of looking at it. No idea if his bounce rate changed but he's been bragging about it nonstop.
