Picked cheap cardstock over the good stuff for a zine... big mistake

I was making a 24-page zine for a local art show in Austin last month and had to choose between 80lb uncoated text paper for $12 a ream or the 100lb glossy cover stock at $18. I went with the cheap stuff to save cash... big regret. The ink bled through every page and it felt flimsy like notebook paper. Anyone else cheap out on materials and instantly regret it?

Did you try printing on just one side of the page?

Friend of mine tried that exact thing, @zarak18. Loaded up a whole ream of paper wrong and ended up with a double sided mess that looked like abstract art. Ended up having to redo the whole job anyway, so sometimes you just gotta laugh and accept the print gremlins won.
