Just hit 1000 hours on my side project tracker and it's not what I expected

I started logging time on my design portfolio rebuild back in January. I thought I was maybe putting in 10 hours a week, max. The app I use, Toggl, hit 1000 hours logged this morning and I had to check the math twice. That's over 20 hours a week for a full year on top of my regular job. It made me realize I've been treating this 'side' thing like a second career without the pay or plan. Has anyone else had a tracking number slap them in the face like that? What did you do after?

Saw an article that called this "passion tax," where the stuff we do for fun ends up costing us time we never meant to spend. That number from your tracker is a brutal wake-up call. I'd probably stare at it for a while and then have a serious talk with myself about what I actually want from the project. Maybe it's time to set some real limits or even think about how to make it pay off.

Honestly, that's why I stopped tracking, it just shows how our hobbies become unpaid jobs.
