Just realized how much layout matters in a tiny apartment after visiting a friend's place in Brooklyn
I was at my buddy's spot in Brooklyn last week, maybe 400 square feet, and he had this crazy efficient layout that made it feel twice as big. He used a murphy bed from a local carpenter and swapped out his coffee table for a drop-leaf one that folds flat against the wall. It got me thinking, is it better to spend on custom built-ins or just get creative with multifunctional furniture? What's worked for you all in small spaces?

Honestly get the drop leaf table first, I picked one up for like 60 bucks and it freed up so much floor space for my bike to lean against the wall. Then if you still need more room that's when you look into the custom stuff, but start cheap and see what layout actually works.

The drop leaf table for 60 bucks is a TOTAL steal, @logan_schmidt. I tried a similar cheap route before going custom and it saved me from buying a whole setup I didn't need. Plus you can always sell it or move it later if the layout changes.
