my color palette kept changing shades until i wrote down the hex codes
last week i pulled up a client file from 3 months ago and my greens were a completely different hue, turned out i was just eyeballing colors from memory instead of saving them properly, has anyone else caught themselves doing this or do you always lock in your swatches first thing?

Took me way too long to learn this but saving hex codes is only half the battle. You also gotta save the actual file with the colors locked in a layer or a style guide, cause I've had hex codes written down somewhere and still messed up cause I typed one digit wrong or copied it from the wrong spot. What really saved me was making a master swatch file for each client and pulling colors from that instead of typing codes fresh every time. Before that I'd have like four versions of "coral" floating around and none of them matched. Now I just open the swatch doc, grab the color, done, no guessing.
