My impulse buy of a $150 'productivity planner' just collected dust for six months.

I found that forcing myself into its rigid daily structure actually killed my motivation, so has anyone found a flexible system that works with a changing schedule?

Ugh, that sounds so familiar. My expensive planner felt like a boss I had to report to every day. What finally clicked for me was just using my phone's basic notes app. I list one big thing and two small things, and I can move them around if my day blows up.

What's the point of a planner if it makes you feel like a failure for not using it? My fancy notebook just became a guilt trip I paid for. I switched to a cheap notepad and just write three things I actually want to do each day. If I do more, cool, but the low bar keeps me moving.
