Why does nobody talk about the 80-20 rule for project planning

Spent 3 hours stressing over every detail for my workshop layout before a buddy said just focus on the 20% that gives 80% of the result. Cut my prep time in half and actually ended up with a cleaner setup. Anyone else fall into the overplanning trap?

Oh man, the overplanning trap is my whole life... spent way too many hours rearranging the same spreadsheets before my last big project. Buddy told me the 80-20 rule works for everything, even laundry... now I just focus on the stuff that actually gets wrinkled and call it a day. Still end up triple checking stuff though, old habits die hard I guess. Kinda freeing to admit most of the prep work was just me trying to feel in control.

The 80-20 rule is a real lifeline once you accept that 80% of the prep was just nervous energy burning. I finally stopped color-coding my to-do lists and just started doing the three things that actually mattered, and somehow the world didn't end.
