Hot take: monitor arms are overrated for most setups
I spent like 6 months trying to get my dual monitor arms adjusted perfectly and they kept sagging on one side. Finally gave up and just put my 27 inch Dell on the stock stand and the 24 inch secondary on a stack of hardcover books from IKEA. Been rock solid for 8 months now and cost me zero dollars. Anyone else find that simple solutions beat expensive gear half the time?

Think this is just one of those things where the expensive option is really just a more complicated way of solving a problem that didn't need solving. I see this with kitchen gadgets all the time, everyone buying those fancy sous vide machines when a good old pot of water does the same thing for most meals. People act like you're a caveman for stacking books under a monitor but if it works and looks fine to you, then you've already won. Sometimes the "hack" is just admitting the expensive tool isn't actually better for your specific life.

Remembered my friend Jess spent 50 quid on a walnut monitor stand and then promptly switched back to her old textbook stack lmao
