Last Tuesday my desk lamp died at 3pm and I nearly gave up

I was mid video call when my gooseneck lamp flickered out, leaving my whole corner in shadow and my monitor glare unbearable. Turns out the bulb was fine, the wiring inside the base had corroded after 4 years of daily use. Has anyone switched to a clip on style light or did you just replace the whole lamp?
