Spent $200 on a cable management system and it made things worse

Last spring I bought this fancy under-desk cable tray kit from a local office supply store. I spent a whole Saturday routing cables through the plastic channels and zip-tying everything down. Three days later I realized I couldn't unplug my monitor without unscrewing the whole tray from the desk. Now I just use velcro straps and let the cables hang loose behind my desk.

Yeah, overengineering the cable setup always backfires in my experience.

Read some article that said the whole "keep it simple" rule applies to cables more than anything. @jake_mason30 I'm with you, every time I tried to get fancy with my setup it ended up being more trouble than it was worth.
