I spent 4 hours trying to fix a color contrast issue that was my own fault | Designing for Accessibility

I kept adjusting a button's background color in Figma, but it kept failing the contrast checker. Turns out I had a 10% opacity white layer over it the whole time, which was washing everything out. Has anyone else wasted time on a simple mistake like that?

Honestly, my worst one was with a text shadow. I kept making the text itself darker and darker for contrast, but the real problem was a heavy black drop shadow I'd added weeks before that was muddying everything. Took forever to spot it.
