Everyone says you need a drawing tablet, but my mouse-only art just got into a gallery
I spent the last two weeks working on a detailed cityscape using just my laptop trackpad and GIMP, and the local coffee shop in Portland chose it for their monthly show. People keep telling me I'm 'limiting myself' by not buying a tablet, but I think the challenge forces more careful line work. Has anyone else had success with basic tools instead of the expensive gear everyone pushes?

No way, that's awesome! Sandra_anderson is totally right. My best digital pieces were done with a cheap mouse years ago. The forced slowness makes you plan each stroke.
