Made a digital matte painting based on a trip to the Salton Sea

I visited the Salton Sea last month and the abandoned structures there gave me a weird moody atmosphere idea. Spent about 8 hours layering textures and light leaks in Photoshop to capture that crumbling desert vibe. Has anyone else tried using real location photos as a base for a fantasy scene?
