My first travel workspace setup was just a laptop balanced on a hotel Bible.
Now I bring a small foldable stand and a wireless mouse to make any room feel like my office.

Lighting does a lot of that work for me. There's this little bookshop in my town that just feels real. The carpet is a bit worn by the history section, and the owner always has a half-full mug of tea on the desk. Those tiny, unplanned details are what the big chain stores try so hard to copy but never quite get right. It just feels lived in, not staged.
