Just realized my apprentice was right about the 3-way switch in that Seattle kitchen
He kept saying 'check the common on the other box' and I blew him off, but after an hour of head scratching, that's exactly where the problem was. Anyone else ever get schooled by the new guy on something basic?

Wait, you spent a full hour on it? Man, that's brutal. I would have caved and checked after like ten minutes of nothing working. It's always the simple stuff that gets you, like a loose neutral on a outlet you just replaced. Makes you feel kinda silly, doesn't it?
