Stuck for 4 hours on a phantom door lock fault in a 20-year-old hydraulic unit. The limit switch was fine, but the cam adjustment was a quarter-turn off.

Been there. Spent a whole afternoon tracing wires only to find the actuator arm was just barely out of spec.

That's a read/write head, not an actuator arm.
