Why does nobody talk about how sensitive new elevator boards are to dust?

Just had to clean one out mid-rush hour, what a pain.

Ugh, dust and lint are the worst for those things. I keep a mini lint roller in my bag now for a quick fix, which kinda helps with what @the_patricia said about keeping them clean. Just a quick roll over the buttons can stop the whole panel from going weird. What do you guys use?
