I was totally against chemical peels for sensitive skin until a treatment in Portland
Honestly, I messed up a mandelic acid peel last month because I rushed the prep, and my patient got red for two days. Has anyone else had to fix a reaction from a peel that was too strong?

Two days of redness sounds about right for my first time with a glycolic acid. I felt like I'd given my client a sunburn with a side of regret.

Redness for two days is a pretty clear sign the peel was too strong for that skin... maybe the prep was off or the timing was wrong. A proper first-time glycolic application shouldn't leave someone looking sunburned, it should just be a light pink flush for a few hours. That level of reaction means the settings need a serious review before the next client.
