My neighbor Bob proved dark siding hides dirt better than light after 3 years of watching his house
Everyone online says light colors show less grime, but his dark blue HardiePlank looks cleaner than my beige vinyl after the same time. Has anyone else seen dark siding hold up better in a wet climate like ours in Portland?

My neighbor Dave put in dark gray fiber cement siding three years ago and I swear it still looks almost new. I'm in Seattle so I feel your pain with all the rain and moss. Meanwhile my tan vinyl has that greenish tint near the bottom where the moisture sits, plus weird streaks under the eaves. Maybe it's just me but I think the darker colors hide all the little water spots and dirt better than people want to admit.
