That chat with my neighbor about porch lights changed my whole approach

My neighbor across the street, Mike, mentioned last week that his porch light was too bright and it was messing with his sleep. He swapped to a 40-watt warm bulb (instead of the 60-watt cool one) and said his bedroom isn't glowing blue at 2 AM anymore. Anyone else rethink their fixture brightness after someone pointed out the glare?

Hell @grace926, guess Mike's porch light made him feel like a crime scene suspect every night.

That porch light was too bright and it was messing with his sleep" - yeah, that's the thing nobody talks about. I had the same issue with my front door light, I just never thought it mattered until my wife started complaining about the hallway glow. Switched to a dimmer warm bulb and it's crazy how much better the whole house feels at night. Funny how such a small change can make you rethink everything about your lighting setup.

It's wild how something so simple can fly under your radar until someone points it out. Mike and your wife both did you a solid by speaking up, because nobody wants that harsh blue glow invading their sleep space. Small tweaks like that really do add up to a calmer home overall.
