Just found out the hard way about mixing concrete in a plastic wheelbarrow on a hot day

I was setting posts for a backyard fence in Phoenix last Tuesday, and the 110-degree heat made the new plastic wheelbarrow I was using go soft and crack right down the middle halfway through the third bag of mix. The whole batch was ruined, and I lost half a day cleaning up the mess. Has anyone else had a wheelbarrow fail like this, and what's a good heavy-duty brand that can handle summer heat?

That 110-degree heat basically turns a plastic wheelbarrow into a slow cooker. People forget the SUN is heating it from above while the chemical reaction in the wet concrete cooks it from below. It's a double whammy. I switched to a steel tray wheelbarrow years ago after a similar meltdown. The metal gets hot, sure, but it won't just give up and split open on you.

My old plastic one lasted ten Phoenix summers.

Ten summers is a long time for any plastic wheelbarrow out here.
