Honestly, I was cutting my tulip stems straight for years and they kept drooping.

Tbh, a customer in my shop last week told me she always snips hers at a sharp angle. I tried it on a batch of 50 stems for a wedding order, and they stood up way straighter in the vase. Ngl, I felt pretty silly for not knowing that trick sooner. Has anyone else found a simple snip makes that big a difference with other flowers?

Wait, doesn't cutting at an angle just help them drink more water? I thought the drooping was about the stems getting blocked. Honestly, with tulips, I've had better luck poking a tiny pin hole right below the flower head to let out air. The angled cut is key for woody stems like lilacs though, you gotta give them that extra surface area.

Try adding a penny to the water, worked for my tulips.
