That Friday we had 17 wedding orders and the cooler broke
It was the last Friday in June and our shop had a huge rush of last minute wedding work... like 17 separate orders all due that Saturday. Then the main walk in cooler just died at 3 PM. We had to move everything into our backup fridge and two of our personal coolers from home. My partner called every rental place in town and we got a small temp unit by 7 PM, but it was a close call. Has anyone else had a cooler fail during a peak time and what did you do to save the flowers?

Why would you even have 17 wedding orders due the same weekend? That sounds like poor planning to me. A good shop would turn down work they can't handle. Maybe you should focus on taking fewer orders instead of blaming the cooler. Stuff breaks sometimes, that's just part of running a business.

I actually used to agree with robinl90 about turning down work, but last summer changed my mind. We had a huge funeral order and our van died the morning of the delivery. Stuff happens that you can't plan for, no matter how careful you are. Having a backup plan for your equipment is just smart business. Your quick thinking with the rental cooler probably saved all those weddings.
